Darker theme for those who are light sensitive

At the bottom of the page, you can use the dropdown theme menu and select the dark theme.
It is not perfect, I hate some of the colours. But for now those who want a dark look can use it until I fine tune it.

Brian, similarly to Paul, I do not have this option:

 

- only Privacy Policy and Contact Us. 
 

- is this one of the new paid-for/subscribe options?

Try Ctrl + F5 to completely reload the page. Browser may be loading it from cache.

You guys are gonna have to excuse me. I'm learning too and there are hundreds of new options and fine tuning. I love it, but keep missing small ones.
I think I found the setting now. Please check. I set it that only logged in members can change it. Like a lot of features, I'm going to push guests to register. I made a ton of small changes today and more coming. Wonder if people will notice....
New downloads section for files, books etc is going to be amazing too.
SSL secure certificate on the way. Spent over $800 past week, so I need to get that upgrade stuff sorted soon and tiers, and get some payments in.

Thanks Brian.  Not light sensitive, but the dark background reminds me of the old days.....which ended about a week ago!   Do take it easy my friend.

I’m going to try and replicate a lot of the old colors. Have to get a test installation of the old one so I can pick colors. Also needed to register another domain as a dummy. Then make domain name and config changes. Nameserver changes. Then I can start looking at about 100 different color pickers and play one at a time. 
just an example of what’s needed just to change colors. 🤣😂🤣

 

The dark theme above I just paid for though. Much easier and faster. I can still tune it. 

 

Those nagging me to relax, when stuck on your back and not really able to sleep from discomfort....what else is there to do? 😁

Thanks Brian I really like the dark theme, much easier on the eyes especially late at night when I log in if I cant sleep. 

I was a little reluctant about the change but its really starting to grow on me.

I just tried the dark theme, I like it however I also noticed something which could probably be tuned to make it more user-friendly.

 

The "grey circle" used for denoting forums / topics with new posts almost disappears with the new theme.

There are many colours that need tuning. I'll get to them in the future when I am able. This was a paid for theme that came like that and was installed as an emergency measure.

EDIT: just one little detail but perhaps it’s something I’m doing wrong. In the Dark Theme, the PMs letters become a very light grey, very hard to read (at least for my aging eagle eyes:) ). Any way to correct this?

Like the dark as well. To go to last post i have to click on hour of last post..my fat fingers 80% of the time i hit poster avvy. Very frustrating!

OK...the Dark theme is now improved with the fix of the pm bug. You can now read pm's without light text on white background.

Brian explained it to me:

At the top click on Activity

Then My Activity Streams

Then Create New Stream

You get to name the stream and choose from a list of choices so that you get all new posts.

Yip, Engraved is a great theme and one of my favs. It is one of the 2 themes only available to Gold Tier membership which you were awarded by me, for all you do for us. I just added the logo now...was missing a setting.
There will be a few more themes later, some for all and a few more for Gold members. Gold membership does have quite a few benefits...see subscriptions.
