Hello

I need help to see which smiths made these wakizashis.

Wakizashi No. 1. This wakizashi is from the beginning of Muromachi jidai

Wakizashi No. 2. I get no answer to this wakizashi when I look for smiths.

Grateful for responses to these signatures.

Robert

Like Bruce wrote above it is bit later than beginning for the first one.

I believe the mei on the second reads - 萬歳源継秀造之 so you would be looking for references for Tsuguhide.

Hi Jussi and Bruce

I can't find any smith with name Tsuguhide around year 1500. I have tried on different indexes but find none. Could it be some other signature to possibly get closer to who the smith is.

Do you have a translation of the second sword? It is probably a Shinto sword.

I might have been bit unclear in my reply.

1st: Tadamitsu - 備前国住長船忠光 / 永正元年八月吉日

2nd: Tsuguhide - 萬歳源継秀造之 / 八月吉日

Tsuguhide worked in the late 1700's to early 1800's. Musashi province, lineage of Tsuguhira smiths.

Thanks

I'll be looking for these smiths, very interesting.
Do you see any more details / explanations about the signatures on the swords
