Looks like MIHARA no JU MASAHIRO.

Sorry, I'm really a beginner :)  and would like to understand - what does (NO) mean? Is this a fake signature of a school or a master?  I found information on the school and I am confused by hamon - it is wavy and does not fit the school

Tnx!

Regards,

From the kanji pages:

The “no” means “of” as in lord of  Izu province, however, it is only spoken and is never written

So it is kind of inserted when you read the mei, even though it isn't written there. It becomes gut feel, and you automatically add it when you pronounce the location.

Oh great, I got it, thanks!   :)
