Isshu Posted March 1 Report Posted March 1 Hi Guys, Thought I would share an interesting habaki that is on my latest katana purchase. I haven't seen one like this before so if anyone has any thoughts on it, it would be great to hear about it. Regards, John C. 4 1 Quote

Steves87 Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 I found these two in George Trotter's book "Japanese swords and fittings in the Western Australian Museum" while looking through it during the week. Its a pretty interesting Habaki, George did a good job on the book too. The museum may have to lift their fittings (Tsuba) game though. 5 Quote

PNSSHOGUN Posted May 20 Report Posted May 20 Technically this would be a Ricasso, as found on dress swords. 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted May 20 Author Report Posted May 20 10 hours ago, PNSSHOGUN said: Ricasso Oh, I think you nailed it, John. Here is the blade. You can see it was made for a Type 8/19. I don't think that nakago shape would have been a kyugunto. 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted May 30 Author Report Posted May 30 Wow, Okan, are those actual inserts holding the sides together, or are they painted on or inlay? 1 Quote
