Dereksure Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 Interesting Vintage/antique custom made kaga-styple habaki for sale in the UK https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184351602862?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Cheers
Babu Posted July 6, 2020 Report Posted July 6, 2020 Looks like it's been crushed to fit a polished blade then got too loose so was replaced. In a constructive way... I wonder how much money is wasted by people optimistically buying used habaki off ebay that they hope might fit a blade they have. Having a habaki made that fits the blade precisely costs about the same as this sellers used and deformed offering. It is OK to replace a habaki after polishing, in fact it's more likely necessary and expected. Just keep the old ones for historic interest.
Bazza Posted July 6, 2020 Report Posted July 6, 2020 It has a conspicuously home made appearance... BaZZa.
