Jesper Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 Deal all, I have problems reading the entire signature on an old NBTHK paper issued for a Kiyoshige wakizashi. I find the handwriting somewhat challenging. All inputs are appreciated. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Jesper Quote
Geraint Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 Dear Jesper. I can't help you with the first few kanji but the smith is Choshu ju Kiyoshige. Might help in your search. Are the first few perhaps, "One wakizashi mei"? All the best. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 NBTHK Showa 48, result Kitchō Tōken. The Mei is as Geraint says. Quote
Surfson Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 I believe that Geraint has it right. The other line is the nagasa, 1 shaku, 5 sun, 1 bu, which comes out to 45.75 cm or 18.01 inches. Quote
Jesper Posted July 6, 2020 Author Report Posted July 6, 2020 Thank you Geraint, Piers and Robert, Much appriciated. Jesper Quote
