badkarma11 Posted July 4, 2020 Report Posted July 4, 2020 Hello again, helpful folks of the board. I have a couple of questions, some I put in the 'what is this thing' post of mine, one or two are new. Other post: http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/32339-i-need-help-identifying-a-sword/page-1 1.Could anyone suggest where I might obtain an era appropriate seppa for this blade? 2.The wrapping on the scabbard is detached at one end. How should I fix it or who might be able to? (picture in page two of the other post) 3. Can anyone direct me to a source on how to properly wrap the sageo? Thanks in advance, Alex Happy Independence Day to my US comrades. Quote
Surfson Posted July 4, 2020 Report Posted July 4, 2020 This is a very fine koshirae, Alex, and I would suggest that you send it to Brian Tschernega in Washington state. He is the best in the US and one of the best in the world. Fair warning, it won't be cheap and it will take a lot of time. 2 Quote
ChrisW Posted July 4, 2020 Report Posted July 4, 2020 Robert is very correct. I've tied a sageo for a wakizashi before, but a tachi is a whole order more difficult and requires skill that even the best of Boy Scouts would struggle with! Quote
Surfson Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 I was referring more to work on the handle and seppa. Sageo is not a big deal. Quote

I just need one more small seppa to make the assembly snug. There are two on one side and only one on the other. Quote
Surfson Posted July 5, 2020 Report Posted July 5, 2020 Hopefully I can find one for you Alex. b 1 Quote
