Gunome Posted June 27, 2020 Report Posted June 27, 2020 Hello, I would like to know your opinion about of this tsuba and a possible school. By default I would said Shoami, but I am not totally satisfy with this attribution. Tsuba is quite thick and mimi is rounded. Iron is not very dense. The disign is 2 dragons Thanks Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted June 29, 2020 Report Posted June 29, 2020 Looks more like two of the geckos on my wall. My first thought would also be Shoami, but Owari & Akasaka also come to mind. Quote
Gunome Posted June 30, 2020 Author Report Posted June 30, 2020 Hello Ken, Thanks for your reply. I don't think it could be Akasaka as the dragon are carved in 3D. For Owari I don't know, I will look into this direction. thanks Quote
Gunome Posted July 1, 2020 Author Report Posted July 1, 2020 Only one reply. Well, seems I am not alone to be puzzled by an attribution to this one Quote
Kurikata Posted July 11, 2020 Report Posted July 11, 2020 Sébastien, I found this one similar to yours from Choshu school (Nagato) and from the Kawaji family. Signature is Choshu Hagi No Ju Kawaji Saku長州萩住河治作 (https://www.millon.com/lot/93327/9638460) I hope it can help Quote
Gunome Posted July 11, 2020 Author Report Posted July 11, 2020 Hello Bruno. Indeed same splitted bamboo and dragon pattern. This Choshu tsuba is far better than mine ! Thanks, I will look on choshu then. Quote
