Peter Bleed Posted June 6, 2020 Report Posted June 6, 2020 A freind asked me to translate this lock which secured a pharmacist's cabinet in rural Nebraska. Something about 100 falls, and men and plain women, but what is that last character? Quote

Bugyotsuji Posted June 7, 2020 Report Posted June 7, 2020 Good-looking thing. I am not clear in my mind re the difference between Chinese, Korean, Japanese locks, but the overwhelming cultural influence would have come from the continent. The good-luck lettering does give a Chinese flavour, I agree. There is quite a good write-up on this site: https://www.historicallocks.com/en/site/h/articles/padlocks-in-china/categories-of-locks/ Quote
