One more with Noshi design, signed Namitoshi (from eBay):

A mumei tsuba from eBay, very similar to one signed Tatsunao shown in the previous page (see link). If I'm not mistaken, the NBTHK paper classifies it as 武州 Bushu:

Priced an arm and a leg on eBay, an unusual tsuba with rice bale design signed Tatsutoshi:

This tsuba signed Namitoshi is currently being offered by three (!) different sellers on eBay, it must be a re-sale from Yahoo Japan. Relatively cheap but, alas, in terrible condition:

Is Efu a province or a family name?

I've seen a few "Efu" tsuba online and was wondering what/who it was.

Efu (also read Kofu) means Edo.

That page from Markus' book indicates that Akao and Ito are similar lineages, which resolves my earlier questions.  I like the work a lot.

Hi Guys,

I've been out of action for a while and missed this post.  But here is one of mine, a tsuba signed Efu ju Namitoshi.  Signature looks with the ones shown above and design of bamboo seems to have been a favourite of Namitoshi.  This tsuba came from the Peter Newall collection an antique dealer and artist whose collection lay undisturbed in a loft for 30 years after his death (luckily it was not damp).,

Indeed, he is not in Markus Sesko's genealogy but the theme and the "toshi" suggest some relation.
