For a moment I thought you meant these Fans, patiently waiting to view "Swords of Kyoto" in 2018...

 

 

 

Seriously though, the subject of Fans is really fascinating, as it encompasses so much, from a simple tool for keeping cool, part of an elegant game from the Heian Court, a devastating close quarter weapon, an object of Talismanic importance and a symbol which controlled the fortunes of men on the Battlefield.
