info on tsuba

i noticed in a previous post an iron tsuba with the same motif as these two i own the stated svhool was shaomi ,i think, would these two be classed as shaomi

i have a 3rd tsuba with the same motif without the brass inlet but i have mislayed it!

I think Milt, in an effort to be increasingly obtuse and incomprehensible, is saying that after a bit of alcohol, this could start to look like a Higo Hayashi school tsuba. It's not though.

i never assumed they were good just generic copies

i have over 100 tsuba but have only ever bought one all the rest have been taken off swords parted out or sent for polish

I wasn't talking about your Tsuba, just explaining what Milt was going at.

 

I've seen Tsuba like you posted, and they were attributed to Aizu-Shôami. Not copies per se, just a very common motif.

I believe I posted a similar sukashi tsuba I sniped off e-bay at a very low price and Ford actually like it ( judging from the pics and somehow the messages went AWOL after the crash of the servers ).

 

 

An update.....................

 

it's a CAST modaqn copy .

I have since returned and get a refund , all I lost is the shipping charge and a reminder that, quoting Hill Street Blues, " let's be careful out there ".

whilst mine are of no great quality they are not modern cast copies
