Hi all. Im restoring a giant ray saya- think thats what its called- the type with the flower/ cluster , largeish, say 6/8mm diameter with the normal round nodules surrounding them!Hope that desribes it?!?! Anyone have about 10 sq inches forsale/ 100mm x50 or larger? Long shot I know. All else fails I am preparing to use 40/50 year old whale bone- same colour but growth lines not circular. Check the draws guys and gals please. Regards Michael.

Many thanks for your reply. Sadly only approx 5 nodes on any small rayskin is suitable and unfortunately price restrictive. But thank you for your relpy. My saya sat in a barn in the mid west of USA and as ray is animal the rats attacked it- so I need to replace the actual nodes not a piece- they weren't selective unfortunately! If I could up load pics I would but on my mobile. Cheers Michael

Sounds like your saya uses the rare and far more expensive kairagi-same listed on that page. Ouch...10x more expensive. If you hope to only restore the larger emperor nodes, don't think you will find them separately as that is precisely what everyone is after.

Hi Brian, dont expect the emporer bu maybe the section around it as they are 3/4mm usually. Yes very uneconomical to purchase new. I'll get some pics up soon but I think its the whale bone as a substitute. Many thanks to all for input. Cheers Michael.
