flo06 Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 Dear members, 1) Sentoku Tsuba signed Toshinaga Saku – 利長作High quality work depicting copper birds with some small gold inlays (eyes) flying over a raging sea.Musashi province – Mid Edo ~ 1760Nara school.Toshinaga was a student of renowned craftsmen as Nara Masanaga, Yoshishige…Kinko Meikan rank = RyokoDimensions = 7,4 x 7 cm 980 € 2) Very rare Tsuba signed Senoo Saku Beautiful representation of Daruma wrapped in his robes decorated with floral motifs in Ke-bori . The ring to his ear is in silver and the pupil of his eye in Shakudo.The alloy of this Tsuba seems to be predominantly made of copper and silver. Senoo school, late Edo. Dimensions : 7,1 x 6,4 cm 1700 €

flo06 Posted April 19, 2020 Author Report Posted April 19, 2020 Thanks Ken and Greg for your replies. Yes, two very interesting tsuba here. My pictures don't do them justice, much better in hands. The metal alloy of the second one is fantastic. The silver reflections are much more visible in real life, I've never seen that on another tsuba before.
