Genuine Kyu Gunto Saya

I wonder if this Saya is a genuine / antique Kyu Gunto Saya. The owne says it is silver plated but it looks rather shiny to me like chrome plated? Since this is not my cup of tea I wonder what others do think about it?

Looks really immaculate, why was the blade separated from it I wonder? I've seen the listing too.

Let's start this off by saying I have known of re plating old saya to cover bad corrosion.

 

That aside I think this example is Fisher the old fish souce left out in the sun.

 

The drag is very out of shape, dosnt look natural with a poor appearance and ugly finishing lines on the back of the saya.

 

The koiguchi looks suspect to the inside of the throat, maybe modified.

 

The ashi is just wrong, I have never seen a first hanger notched so it can be removed. It could be a 2nd ashi that has been modified to suit a rebuild.

 

 

Ok, just from what I can see on my phone, yes phone sized screen.

 

I think at best it's a bastardised rechromed says as it shows signs of age to the wood liner.

 

 

BBUTTTT. IMHO I'm leaning toward modern

Thank you for your thoughts. It did not seem right to me and way to shiny to be silver.
