Bugyotsuji Posted March 29, 2020 Report Posted March 29, 2020 Someone has done a very nice job on the Ukebari. Thanks for showing these. Quote
Luc T Posted March 29, 2020 Report Posted March 29, 2020 Peter, the first one looks like a 17th century 62 plate suji kabuto. The typical mabezashi points in the direction of the Haruta school. Quote
Guest Posted March 29, 2020 Report Posted March 29, 2020 Good afternoon Peter, Thank you for sharing your collection. The Kamon on the 62 plate Suji Kabuto looks very much like Mukou Yama Zakura Mukou Yama Zakura became synonymous with the Rikugun (Army), from early Showa onwards. I suggest some research done on this, as it may have been added in the 1930's to show allegiance to the National effort. (Just me musing, so take no real notice, those that have me in the flesh, at DTI, know me to be a bit thick........ ) However the Kamon on the Zunari Fukigaeshi is really interesting, can you load up much clearer images please. I have gone through the Daimyo Bukan (Books of ancient Kamon), and cannot find anything remotely like it. Also interesting that they are covered in Egawa (Stencil dyed leather). Always a pleasure to view treasures. Quote
