Kurikata Posted March 24, 2020 Report Posted March 24, 2020 Hi, I have this tsuba with NTB certificate stating it's an Echizen Haruta school representative. I have no information on that school but it's an armorer family. Can you provide more information on this school ? Thank you Bruno Quote
Fuuten Posted March 24, 2020 Report Posted March 24, 2020 I don't have much time but the word 'haruta' is present on the following page, you might find it helpful. http://www.shibuiswords.com/tsuba.htm Quote
Pete Klein Posted March 24, 2020 Report Posted March 24, 2020 I believe there is a section on Haruta in the book, 'Tsuba - An Aesthetic Study'. I no longer have a copy but perhaps some else here does so perhaps they can verify and respond. BTW - that is a Fittings Museum Paper and is considered generally to be desirable. PS: It is available for sale here: http://www.ncjsc.org/ncjsc_publications.htm 3 Quote
Kurikata Posted March 26, 2020 Author Report Posted March 26, 2020 Despite Axel and Pete help and after going through my books and Internet researches, I still do not have information on Echizen Haruta school. Is it really a school? My conclusion: It is a pure invention from the Fitting Museum, end of 20th century... Quote
Pete Klein Posted March 26, 2020 Report Posted March 26, 2020 https://www.kusanaginosya.com/SHOP/208.html Perhaps you should add the NBTHK to your 'invention' list...? How about Ginza Choshya as well...? http://ginza.choshuya.co.jp/fs/sale/kodogu/2001_3000/2501_3000/2938/k2938.htm Aoi...? http://www.sword-auction.jp/ja/content/af17467-鍔%EF%BC%9A無銘%EF%BC%88春田%EF%BC%89-tsubamumeiunsigned%EF%BC%88haruta%EF%BC%89 2 Quote
Kurikata Posted March 26, 2020 Author Report Posted March 26, 2020 Thank you Pete for being so patient with me and "invention" was a little bit provocative as I did not find any literature on this school but Haynes. All exemple I found on the web sites mentioned Haruta without ECHIZEN (only found one in Aoi art website but not at all in mine style). That's why I come as as a conclusion that this school is pretty unknown . Quote
