cofor22 Posted March 10, 2020 Report Posted March 10, 2020 Just wanted to share my latest buy. A nice little Yari by nidai Shigetaka. Conny 2 Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 I like the kissaki on that first shot. Sort of a hakikake effect. Quote
cofor22 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 Me too. That was what first caught my eye. Both sides equally nice towards the point. Quote
Geraint Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Dear Connie. I like it! Is it ryoshinogi or sankaku? All the best. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Does it say 越前伝 on the reverse of the nakago, and if so, why, I wonder? Quote
cofor22 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 Geraint it is ryoshinogi. It reads Echizen ju on the reverse. Why? I guess that was same as with their swords. Tradition or any particular reason, I do not know. Quote
Geraint Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Yes, quite common for this group to sign Echizen ju on one side and then the rest of the mei in the usual place. Not sure why but by the time you have got, "Harima no daijo Fujiwara Shigetaka", on the nakago you do tend to run a bit short of space. All the best. Quote
SAS Posted March 11, 2020 Report Posted March 11, 2020 Very nice; I also have one on the way, but unfortunately the USPS decided to send it via ocean mail, waiting since November from Germany Quote
cofor22 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 Heh, mine got stuck in customs for 3 weeks... Quote
cofor22 Posted March 11, 2020 Author Report Posted March 11, 2020 A few closeups. Both sides of tip. Typical style of nidai "Shige" with the upwards twist to the left and the lower horisontal bars compared to shodai. Do I also see masame? 1 Quote
