Shoami Tsuba

New here. I had this tsuba for a while, its a wakizashi tsuba signed shoami I believe. I was just wondering if someone could tell me if its real, if its worth anything, and also what the full signature says?

it's real, mei says " Shoami ".

Worth anything ? One share of Apple computer( today's closing, Oct 6 08 ) on a good day, or 4 shares of E-Bay give ot take 10 bucks on average days........

Thanks for the reply. Also do you know if the whole mei reads shoami, or just the 2nd and 3rd mei? I've seen them with that but not the top one?

I believe the 3 kanji read " Shoami ".

 

p.s. it's not a re-pro, Edo period. Average quality ( my opinion )

It depends on how badly you want $40 and don't want the tsuba. $40 isn't much, but, I think a little low. John

Thanks for the reply. I would rather just keep it then. I believe I paid $60 for it about 4-5 years ago. And $60 is what I was looking to get for it but I had no one interested.

I would expect this to bring close to $80. on ebay if listed well, at a low start price, and without reserve.

Thanks. I had it on ebay, for $60 and no one bought it. So, in this case I will just keep it, plus, it looks good on my sword.

Maybe it will bring a little more. Its a nice way for someone to get their Nihonto fix without breaking the bank.
