Logan09 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 HI New here. I had this tsuba for a while, its a wakizashi tsuba signed shoami I believe. I was just wondering if someone could tell me if its real, if its worth anything, and also what the full signature says? Thanks. -Logan- Quote
Bungo Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 it's real, mei says " Shoami ". Worth anything ? One share of Apple computer( today's closing, Oct 6 08 ) on a good day, or 4 shares of E-Bay give ot take 10 bucks on average days........ milt Quote
Logan09 Posted October 8, 2008 Author Report Posted October 8, 2008 Thanks for the reply. Also do you know if the whole mei reads shoami, or just the 2nd and 3rd mei? I've seen them with that but not the top one? Thanks.. Quote
Bungo Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 I believe the 3 kanji read " Shoami ". p.s. it's not a re-pro, Edo period. Average quality ( my opinion ) Milt Quote
Logan09 Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 Bringing this back from the dead. I was offered $40 for. Should I take it? Or just keep it? Thanks.. -Logan- Quote
John A Stuart Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 It depends on how badly you want $40 and don't want the tsuba. $40 isn't much, but, I think a little low. John Quote

John Thanks for the reply. I would rather just keep it then. I believe I paid $60 for it about 4-5 years ago. And $60 is what I was looking to get for it but I had no one interested. Quote
Grey Doffin Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 I would expect this to bring close to $80. on ebay if listed well, at a low start price, and without reserve. Grey Quote

I had it on ebay, for $60 and no one bought it. So, in this case I will just keep it, plus, it looks good on my sword. Thanks for everyone's help. Quote
nihonto1001 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Maybe it will bring a little more. Its a nice way for someone to get their Nihonto fix without breaking the bank. Jon Quote
