Hi guys

I was just wondering if someone could confirm my translation.

I have come up with " Bu Shu Shimohara Ju Yasushige "

And does anyone have a comparitive mei or input on this smith?

Thanks Simon

Hi,

According Fujishiro, and if i 'm not wrong, he is the son of Chikashige, is called Yamamoto Tôemonnojô, and he lived in Musashi Minamitama gun Ongata Mura Shimohara in Tenmon Era (1532) ranked chujo. At first glance, the signature seems legit.

I found several generations of Yasushige.

According to the site below, there were several generations of Yasushige from late Muromachi to late Edo period and they worked at Hachioji area (in the west of Tokyo).

Thank you Jacques, and Nobody

Your posts have some interesting information

This wak was for sale as a 19th century sword, but I guessed something older

and liked it being O kissaki.

I will add a few more photos which show its obvious need for restoration :)

Cheers Simon
