Which one of these things doesn't belong?  (OK,  some of you will say the Type 32  :) ) ....

anyway ...

I try to live by a simple rule when doing sword maintenance ... make sure I am home ALONE when I do it.

I had to break the rule this week because I have a bunch of students coming by to view the collection, so I pulled out a portion of my stash and placed on a table.   What happens? ... WIFE WALKS IN.   :o   - there is something psychological about all the swords in one place (usually I have them tucked in many corners on stands).     Anyway, I start getting the sarcastic jabs - "Hey, if you sell that table we can take a vacation to the Bahamas ... for a few weeks" ... things like that.

Just some humor for your day ....   Dan

Sheesh Dan! My wife has even proposed I sell all my gunto to pay for the motorcycle I need to buy!!! What was she thinking?!?!

To answer your question - if you claim the knee mortar is just a saya for a really short, fat tanto, then it can stay!

As my Dear Wife turns a (grudging, I'm sure) blind eye to my propensity to drain the Treasury, as a compliment to her I've started saying "I collect because my Wife lets me..."
