Wakizashi Tsuba, part of WW2 Gunto Setup

Recommended Posts

Posted

This Tsuba is 7.5 cm top to bottom, 4mm wide (correction : 4mm thick).

Is part of civilian koshirae converted for military use, saya has horn fittings, it appears to be a reasonably nice set.

I really know next to nothing on tsuba, any pointers for further research much appreciated, thank you in advance folks.

Warm regards,

Jon B

Hi Geraint, not sure on first point, but will be looking at Muromachi era examples to compare, 4 mm thick. What do you think? Many thanks, Warm regards, Jon
