Dmitry, author and seller of one of the finest Nihonto books on Soshu-den in recent years (http://www.nihonto-museum.com/book) has now officially opened his website at http://www.nihonto-museum.com
Everything Dmitry does seems to be at the highest level and this website is no exception. He has made available to the Nihonto community a huge amount of information on Soshu-den swords, with pictures of swords that usually are only seen in the top museums. But this is no "coffee-table" book or website. The information that goes with the pictures is in depth and extensive.
I know Dmitry plans on expanding the site and adding more articles and information. He has offered to publish member-generated articles and pictures if they are at the same level.
I know it was not an easy decision to just offer all of this info for free and to anyone out there, and would like to thank Dmitry for this gesture and wish him success with this venture. I recommend all members have a look and spend some time there and get a chance to see the difference between entry level and TOP level swords.

"impressive website"

What an understatement.

(1) Open pictures, (2) swipe right, and (3) cry a little bit inside that this is as close to some of these blades as I will ever get.

I own the book. A bargain at $350. As a relative newbie in the world of Nihonto I am sure I will appreciate the book even more in the future as my knowledge grows, as with other books like Nagayama. The production effort that went into this publication is as impressive as its contents. I used to think some of my books, like for example a gifted 50th anniversary copy of the Lord of the Rings was nicely made, this blows it out of the water.
