Shamsy Posted February 4, 2020 Report Posted February 4, 2020 For the Rinji Seishiki Gunto patterns at least, if I remember correctly, it was supposed to be for improved security of the blade. They used screws, while higher end swords tended to use two bamboo pegs. Quote
