MacTheWhopper Posted January 23, 2020 Report Posted January 23, 2020 I am hoping to maybe find some seppa on here before custom ordering as i think it would be nice to have older ones. It is probably a long shot, but i don't figure that it hurts to try. The measurements my sword is at are as follows: Fuchi (One Darker colored and 1 of the regular brassy finish) 27mm x 8mm for the inner hole Habaki (Darker color if possible) 23.42mm x 8mm for the inner hole Ideally the seppa would be about an 1" x 1.5" since the tsubas is small but id like to see if anyone might have something that work. If not, to the custom shop i go.
Ganko Posted January 24, 2020 Report Posted January 24, 2020 It is very difficult to match up a used seppa with an existing saya, fuchi, and nakago. The oval radii and diameter are much more varied than you would think. Additionally the greater diameter of the seppa with respect to the koiguchi and or the fuchi should be a similar amount. The reeding on the edges should match also. Additionally, the existing ana in the seppa may not be centered with respect to your nakago. There are many critical dimensions, it is not like putting washers on a bolt. I wish you luck in your quest.
Krystian Posted January 24, 2020 Report Posted January 24, 2020 Please take a look here. This is a whole set but you might find right seppa there: https://soryu.pl/collections/for-your-sword-project/products/used-seppa-set-around-100-pcs
