Vermithrax16 Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 Just wondering, does anyone have a katana, wakizashi, and a tanto all by the same sword maker? Would be interested to see them or read how it all came to be. Thanks in advance. 5 Quote
mdiddy Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 I do. Katana, wakizashi, and tanto by Chounsai Tsunatoshi. Bonus, check out all of the doranba! 24 Quote

BIG Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Jeremiah, I have a Naotane trio. What smith is your goal? Best PS was it your plan to go for better shin shinto swords 1 Quote
BenVK Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 I acquired a katana by wazamono ranked smith Hata Morihisa back in 2016 and just recently bought a wakizashi by him with matching signature. Kelly Schmidt found it on yahoo auctions and got it for me. Still waiting on the export papers however which is taking a long time.. I'd love to find a tanto made by him as well but never seen one so far. 2 Quote

ChrisW Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 I think it'd be swell for us all to pass along missing pieces to other collectors here! Perhaps a special sub-thread/forum where we can catalogue such inquiries? 3 Quote
Surfson Posted January 26, 2020 Report Posted January 26, 2020 I have a few "pairs" where I have two, but no examples of the trifecta Quote

Missed a waki that was sold before I got home from work, and passed on a tanto whose nakago looked like it was Koto era with damage (still TH paper, weird). 1 Quote
Tom Darling Posted January 27, 2020 Report Posted January 27, 2020 Hi Matt, What an extraordinary set, very very nice. I am curious as to the katana length, is it over 30 inches? Thank you. Congratulations. Tom D. Quote
