Can I be the spanner in the works and say I think it's real? Kanji are typical WW2 style, so is date.
But the whole thing has been on a grinder, sanded and messed up. Fittings may be fake, or some of those cheap WW2 cast ones.
Either way, nothing you want here at pretty much any price.

also think it is a  genuine and abused showa blade  with low quality repro fittings. I would doubt there is much that could be salvaged

Nakago was grinded, the sword was self threated and polished around. Fittings are fake. Like Paul the blade was a showa blade.

Blade looks real to me, but much abused. Still, so abused I’d run away. Mountings are fake.
