Arno67 Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 Hello than what you think of it Wakisachi For the seller it’s muromachi period Thanks to advance Best regards Quote
Jean Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 I doubt it, Shinto, I’ll say (because of the yakidashi). 3 Quote
Austus Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 I think those are some great shots of a gorgeous sword. Could you tell more about it? Quote
Arno67 Posted January 11, 2020 Author Report Posted January 11, 2020 no for the moment i have not seen for real and the seller has not given me more info for the moment Quote
Peter Bleed Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 Looks like a nice, signed (TSUGUHIRO) Muromachi blade. Nice rig. Peter Quote
Jacques Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 If im' not wrong, mei reads Soshu ju Tsunahiro 相州住綱広; many smiths signed that way in Shinto/Shinshinto era. Quote
Peter Bleed Posted January 11, 2020 Report Posted January 11, 2020 Mia culpa, Jaques is correct this is a Tsunahiro, and probably a later generation of that line. I will stand by the rest of my assessment , "Nice rig" Peter 1 Quote
Brian Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 Shinto yakidashi...Osaka style?LOVE that fushi and kashira. Those 2 alone are reasons to check this out closer. Professional polish looks like. All in all, a high class sword. Make sure it's all legit and the seller has it in hand/ Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 A nice sword overall, the kissaki does look quite poorly done so perhaps a lower grade Japanese polish. Quote
16k Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 Shinto, not Muromachi, but a nice blade with nice koshirae! Quote
Cordialement. Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 Pretty hefty price for a wakizashi. I'd love to see the bare blade when you receive it - not sure those are yakidashi. Could well be suriage suguba. A very nice-looking blade. Quote

If it is Yakidashi, it points to Edo and I would tend to agree but could it be Momoyama? Either way, I would say early Edo if anything. It's a very nice blade and housed in beautiful fittings. A little expensive tho but very nice Quote
Arno67 Posted January 12, 2020 Author Report Posted January 12, 2020 What is the good price for this blade Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 What the buyer is willing to pay. Quote
Arno67 Posted January 12, 2020 Author Report Posted January 12, 2020 I rephrase my question then, is 6000 € a correct price for this sword Quote
Peter Bleed Posted January 12, 2020 Report Posted January 12, 2020 Arno, You should start coming to American sword shows. Peter Quote
Brian Posted January 13, 2020 Report Posted January 13, 2020 You would expect for it to be papered for that price.Think for yourself, if you only had the bare blade in front of you, how much would that be worth to you, unpapered wakizashi blade? And then how much is the koshirae worth to you? You need to decide for yourself. Or post in the Wanted section that you are looking for something nice, polished and papered for 6000 Euro, and see what you get offered? 1 Quote
vajo Posted January 13, 2020 Report Posted January 13, 2020 6.000 EUR is far to much. I would go for a range between 2.800 EUR and 3.500 EUR. 2 Quote
Jean Posted January 22, 2020 Report Posted January 22, 2020 Here is a Muromachi tanto starting with a straight yakidashi, so it was already existing in Muromachi...: https://www.aoijapan.com/tanto-sukesada/ Quote
