Hi, i have just got my second choshu hagi tsuba. I know Hagi is a place, but is it also used by a particular school as both tsuba seem  better than average.

Hagi was a town in Choshu province where I assume a lot of fittings production took place. I guess it would be a mini-school. They did some good work.
I have some very nice f/k signed by a Choshu Hagi maker.

Without opening the books to confirm, I believe Ko-Hagi is the older term used to describe the style of tsuba that were produced in that part of Japan before the Edo period Choshu school and its various families of artists started producing what we call Choshu tsuba. That is quite a simplified version of significant changes in governance and movement of artists to the area.

There are a few people on NMB that have a much deeper knowledge of the Choshu schools than I do. They do not post often, but one day you might find one of them has replied to this thread and dropped a knowledge bomb here.
