IJASWORDS Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Firstly a full translation would be really great, but guidance on its authenticity would be fantastic! Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Nagasone Kotetsu Nyudo Okisato Authenticity? 1 Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Rather a big name, Neil, & shinsa would be the only way to establish authenticity. But if you'll post some photos, we can at least comment. 1 Quote

Yuradneprov Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Most definitely gimei. Peace 1 Quote
CSM101 Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Okay, I think it is a little bit unfair to say gimei without an explanation. Signature # 1 is a wakizashi with Tokubetso Hozon. The blade is published in the Kotetsu Taikan. And here is signature # 2. the only known naginata naoshi by Kotesu. Juyo Token. Uwe G. 2 Quote
Yuradneprov Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 Your absolutely right use. Thank you for elaborating. Kotetsu is a very very big name and unfortunately many forgeries were made. That's part of dealing with nihonto so it is what it is. I suggest before buying a piece you do you due diligence and research as many authentic signed pieces and do your best to compare the mei. Still tricky but should be done 1 Quote
