Jesper Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Hi, I would be grateful if anyone would help me translate the mei on a kodzuka. I have translated the main part as Ishiguro Mastsune. I do not think it is the famous Masatsune, but some orther Ishiguro artist. Anyway, it is a very nice piece. I have problems translating the three smaller kanji to the right of the signature, see photo. I think the last kanji should be translated as "Sai", but am not 100% sure. Does anyone know what the other kanji are and what they mean? Thank in advance. Jesper Quote
Brian Posted September 17, 2008 Report Posted September 17, 2008 Beautiful looking kozuka Jesper! Love how 3D that tree limb is rendered. Would you post an overall pic for us to appreciate? Brian Quote
Nobody Posted September 18, 2008 Report Posted September 18, 2008 The art name reads Jugakusai (壽岳齋). I think that Ishiguro Masami (石黒政美) also used the same art name. Quote
Jesper Posted September 18, 2008 Author Report Posted September 18, 2008 Thank you! I have posted an overall picture of the Kozuka. Actually, it is not mine, but belongs to my wife. Yes, she is collecting, too. Jesper 1 Quote
