Muramasa Tanto on Aoi

What a great tanto with NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon papers. The second sword, which was recently for sale on Aoi. I always thought that it was almost impossible to buy a real Muramasa blade.

Agreed. Funnily enough we had a beautiful Nidai Muramasa Ohmi yari at the local NBTHK meeting last night, and here now again is the signature that was staring at me.

 

We also had a Masashige blade alongside, containing many Muramasa features. I asked if Muramasa's disciples also were shunned by the Tokugawa, but it seems not.

I had the chance to hold the blade in my hands. I can assure you that the blade is not tired. But with those photos I would say "Photoshop gone crazy!"

You have no idea what Aoi did. But in reality it is not the same tanto.

 

And the price was a little bit less (3.3 Mio).
