ROKUJURO Posted November 21, 2019 Report Posted November 21, 2019 I think the NAKAGO-ANA is looking somewhat strange like on many modern mass-produced cheap TSUBA from China. Before being able to comment further, the TSUBA should be cleaned carefully (with a soft brush) from dirt and corrosion. When we see the true surface and (hopefully) a nice patina, it may reveal its qualities. The other side of the TSUBA might be interesting as well.An UCHIKAESHI MIMI is not so easy to fake/mass produce, so there is hope. Quote
Steves87 Posted November 21, 2019 Report Posted November 21, 2019 I agree with Jean on the funny Nakago-Ana. Zooming in it seems the tip has been filled? Or perhaps, not removed? Quote
Yamazakura Fr Posted November 22, 2019 Author Report Posted November 22, 2019 Thank you for this answer Here are others pics regards Quote
johnnyi Posted November 22, 2019 Report Posted November 22, 2019 For what it's worth, the udenuki ana look punched and chisselled to me in tbe old way. It does look cheap; maybe later Satsuma, or should the Uduki ana be smaller and on the side?? Also the chisselling on the nakago ana is on the wrong side is it not? regards, John Quote
