Ray Singer Posted November 10, 2019 Report Posted November 10, 2019 This is an ubu, signed and dated Bizen Sukesada in absolutely wonderful koshirae. The blade is at the top range of quality for what you can find in Sukesada work at this time period (late Muromachi, Tensho period). The hamon is a fantastic, wide and flamboyant choji-ba with thick sunagashi and great depth of activity. I will be uploading many more photos of the hamon, but please see these initial photos below. The jihada as itame and there is utsuri that tends today the midare style (not a simple no utsuri you may see in Sue-Bizen. The blade is fully ubu and dated Tensho 2. There is NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho for both the blade and koshirae. The koshirae has been assembled with a high quality set of Kinko fuchigashira and menuki. The fuchigashira is in the ichijo style, and has the motif of chidori and waves. The tsuba is a Heianjo mokkogata and quite nice in its own right. The saya nuri is again very beautiful, textured in reddish brown and black lacquer. More details and photos to come.WITHDRAWN 13 Quote
