One of the threaded pins that fasten the Tsuka on my koshirae.

Where can I research and purchase a replacement?

Please excuse my ignorance, I have very little background in this area. (mods, move to the correct forum if necessary)

TIA,

Hummmmm

On closer inspection I can see that there is no threads in the second hole.

Your chopstick suggestion is looking better, Ray.

tnx,

George, that very well may be. One of my Type 3 (Rinji) models did'nt have a metal plate on the far side. I had to use bamboo. But you might try a screw to find out. The plate is a very thin sheet metal, and theoretically, the hole in the wood will be the same size as the hole in the metal, so it might not be real obvious peaking through from the other side.

I can't tell, David. I have no idea what the part that was there looked like. I thought it was a threaded screw but, like I said in post #3, there doesn't seem to be any threaded section in the second hole (furthest from the tsuba). Is what you have pictured a two part threaded connector?

David, I think George needs one of the screws that is basically the second mekugi. You have the part that the sarute goes through I think?
