masakatsu Posted October 30, 2019 Report Posted October 30, 2019 Hello All, Just wanted to make an announcement that we are in the kick-off stage of re-forming the Nihonto Enthusiasts Club of Philadelphia, and we will have our first meeting in November. Our hope is to generate increased interest in the study and care of Japanese swords and fittings. The first meeting will be on Saturday November 23rd from 4:30 to 6:30 followed by dinner and will take place at the River of Life Martial Arts and Wellness Center. The address is 321 Morris Road in Fort Washington Pennsylvania. Please come if you can, or at least spread the word, as our intention is to grow the community. Respectfully, Matt 5 Quote

O-Yumi Posted November 5, 2019 Report Posted November 5, 2019 How about some contact info for future meeting, etc? I live in north central PA and know there are other PA Nihontophiles that might be interested. Thanks, John 1 Quote
John A Stuart Posted November 5, 2019 Report Posted November 5, 2019 Best wishes for a continued success in the Philly area. John Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted November 6, 2019 Report Posted November 6, 2019 Let me know if you need a sample of bylaws, Matt. I set up our sword club more formally when I was president, & still have the paperwork. 2 Quote
ChrisW Posted November 6, 2019 Report Posted November 6, 2019 Congrats! Shame there isn't one in the Indy area. Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 Well, what's stopping you from setting up a club, Chris? Go for it! Quote
ChrisW Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 The lack of interest in the area I think. If I could get like.. ten people in the area, that'd be pretty swell. Quote
Michaelr Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 Chris, I am interested in attending but I can’t make the first meeting due to prior commitment. I live in central NJ but am willing to meet up. I am looking forward to the second of what I hope will be many meetings. MikeR Quote
