According to page 30 from the catalog's PDF:

 

The purchase price comprises the bid amount, a 25% premium thereof, when bidding through a third-party auction platform their commission, and the costs of insurance, packaging and shipping, if the Auctioneer is commis¬sioned to ship the lots.

Auction houses like Christie's and Sotheby's (job out) don't do the packing and shipping, etc. Check out those fees as well. Peace.

So I definitely did not expect the Kato Teruaki to go that high at all. It doesn't have papers but the work speaks for itself. 

I may or may not have put a insanely high bid for it expecting it to not come close and now the hammer price is right up there....fffffffff -___-

Can't mesh the results numbers (in the 3000s) with the lot numbers (in the 1900s).  What am I missing?

The results posted by Peter range from 3256 to 3840 which corresponds to the lot numbers visible here and here.

2 Questions I've been wondering regarding the Ishiguro Kato Teruaki tsuba: https://www.hermann-historica.de/en/auctions/lot/id/33597

#1. The mei, it says "made in a shrine in Kanda?" what does that mean? never seen that before on any tsuba. 

#2. When HH lists the diameter as 7.7cm and the tsuba is oval shaped, is their measurement horizontal? vertical? or the longest chord of the tsuba?
