Ken-Hawaii Posted October 13, 2019 Report Posted October 13, 2019 Man, you're good, Francois! That's exactly what I've been looking for, in English! I'm fluent in Spanish, & can handle a couple of other languages, but not German. Thanks! 1 Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Which if any tsuba are members here interested in? DM if you don't want to call attention to your likes, but I am genuinely interested in what is catching your eye. (I don't over seas bid in online Euro auctions, so no issue with me on that front). Tom Darling Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 What is the commission on the winning bid? Thank you. Tom D. Quote
francois2605 Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 According to page 30 from the catalog's PDF: The purchase price comprises the bid amount, a 25% premium thereof, when bidding through a third-party auction platform their commission, and the costs of insurance, packaging and shipping, if the Auctioneer is commis¬sioned to ship the lots. Tom Darling Posted October 14, 2019 Report Posted October 14, 2019 Auction houses like Christie's and Sotheby's (job out) don't do the packing and shipping, etc. Check out those fees as well. Peace. Tom D. Quote
CSM101 Posted October 16, 2019 Author Report Posted October 16, 2019 The catalogue is online: https://www.hermann-historica.de/de/auctions/detail/id/459 Now you have a chance to see the details. and on 21.November comes the rest: https://www.hermann-historica.de/de/auctions/detail/id/465 Uwe G. Higo-san Posted November 3, 2019 Report Posted November 3, 2019 Thank you for bringing it to our attention, Uwe ! Quote
CSM101 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Report Posted November 15, 2019 I hope that you sit and a doctor is near by: The Kato Teruaki was sold for 19.000 EUR netto. And the rest was kind of insane too. Uwe G. Quote
LeonKr Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Uwe, Hammer price is €19000 excl action fees. So total around €23750 Quote
kissakai Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 Another surprise 3428 Namban sold for 850 euro (hammer price) Quote
terminus Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 So I definitely did not expect the Kato Teruaki to go that high at all. It doesn't have papers but the work speaks for itself. I may or may not have put a insanely high bid for it expecting it to not come close and now the hammer price is right up there....fffffffff -___- Quote
vajo Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 I have bought the auction catalog. Did anyone knows where the pricelist comes up? Found it thanks... Quote
Gakusee Posted November 15, 2019 Report Posted November 15, 2019 So, Tony, the question is whether you did or did not .... 1 Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 Thanks, Peter. Now I know how close my bids didn't come.... 1 Quote
Surfson Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 Can't mesh the results numbers (in the 3000s) with the lot numbers (in the 1900s). What am I missing? Quote
francois2605 Posted November 18, 2019 Report Posted November 18, 2019 The results posted by Peter range from 3256 to 3840 which corresponds to the lot numbers visible here and here. Where do you see lot numbers in the 1900s ? Quote
terminus Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 2 Questions I've been wondering regarding the Ishiguro Kato Teruaki tsuba: https://www.hermann-historica.de/en/auctions/lot/id/33597#1. The mei, it says "made in a shrine in Kanda?" what does that mean? never seen that before on any tsuba. #2. When HH lists the diameter as 7.7cm and the tsuba is oval shaped, is their measurement horizontal? vertical? or the longest chord of the tsuba? Quote
