I don't think. There are only 3 Tsuba i would be interested, but i think they will be go high and the starting price is not low.

I was also thinking that there isn't a lot there that I would kick out of bed.
I'd be happy with most of it.
Mind you...looking through that entire auction catalog of all the arms available, I constantly feel like I should just chuck in the towel on arms collecting. Every item is way better than anything I have owned. Sigh.

In a few days there will be a better online-catalogue. So you can zoom in for details.

I made only a few photos for my personel tsuba archive. Enjoy!

It is a fact for all collecting that there is always something out of reach. I have lusted after so many pieces that I could never hope to include in a collection that I have lost count. At the DTI a few years ago I came away with exactly the same frustration you describe and thought it was time to move on to something else.

Thankfully I didn't. If I had I would have missed out on hours of pleasure looking at what I have in detail.

A gardening friend of mine once said to me

"just because you see some prize blooms at a show that are better than yours you don't go home and dig up what you have grown. You stop and enjoy them for what they are."

Same is true for swords or anything else they may not be an ultimate masterpiece but they can still be damn good!

This is a bit beyond what I regularly encounter in my retirement home! There is an item I would like to take a run at. I have not history with this firm but is someone from the NMB going to be there and could someone carry a bid?

I can definitely find several that I would like to bid on, and in general, it is a nice collection.  Please send us the link when the better online catalog comes out.  I would like to see them up close.   Is it easy to bid and ship from Germany if one lives in the US?

Just the question I was going to ask. Bidding is often easy, but getting a won item shipped safely can be a real hassle.

I’ve been saving up a half a year to fight for that crane tsuba Uwe ????. Hope it will be enough lol.

Already bought this book. Can’t wait to see some higher res photos once it arrives.

Btw, is this auction online or do I have to be there physically?

A couple of of more ore less specific items have been mentioned. And I really don't think that that I will make a run at either of the "Japanese" items that are attracting my attention, so let me say that folks might be interested in items 3815  and 3790

Again, are there any notes on shipping an item, once it's won?

If I understand the “terms & conditions” on their homepage correctly, they do ship worldwide. To be on the safe side, you might want to send them an e-mail.

Thanks, Francoise. I had paged right over those pages. Did you happen to notice if they accept PayPal? I didn't see anything specific to payment methods. In fact, I couldn't find any specifics on payment, other than an anonymous reference to credit cards.

Apparently they do.

Login onto their website, then "Your account", "Your data", "Payment methods". You'll find 4 options:

- Credit card

- Paid in advance

- Pay in cash on collection

- Paypal
