Moley Posted October 5, 2019 Report Posted October 5, 2019 Hi Friends, I posted a request for translation in The Izakaya section. Not getting any views I'm afraid. Can anyone please help? http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/29913-fan-calligraphy/ Gwyn Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted October 6, 2019 Report Posted October 6, 2019 The Tanimura-ha & Shimomura-ha are the two main lines of Eishin-Ryu iaido (one of the ryuha my wife & I train in). Iaido is, indeed, "a solitary journey pursuing spirit, heart, and courage." Kyoshi is a shogo title, usually awarded at the rokudan level, & (loosely) means that the holder is an excellent teacher, as well as holding dan rank. 1 Quote
