Blade quality is excellent. Some scuffing, stains etc. No issues that I can see. Hamon has a somewhat Bizen feel, but there are sections of togari showing Mino influence. The only real issue with the sword is the losses to the saya, which was once a very good one.

Dang... I already signed on for a uchigatana. But this is a real deal.. ha. Already working out paying on two blades. I don't suppose you do trades of any kind? Kyu Gunto are kind of my thing, more than any blade. I feel like a fool for even posting/asking.

Hi Chris, as much as I would like to do so it is consigned for a friend who needs to sell. I would not be able to arrange a trade for this piece. Thank you for your inquiry.

Best regards,

Ray

Hurts to let it go! A real shame. I even wonder if it's curvature would fit in this kyu-gunto saya I have. Slim shot I know, but I've seen wackier things happen.

I thought that this would be of interest. After an extended hold, the potential buyer did not move forward with purchasing the kyu-gunto. I ended up buying the sword for myself. The sword just returned from mado-ake. Clearly an excellent koto blade. Some areas look like Naoe-Shizu, others have a So-den Bizen look. Still studying...
