Logan09 Posted August 25, 2019 Report Posted August 25, 2019 GI bringback. Is Wakizashi length but must have been used as a katana(Tsuka is 9" long) cleaned the blade as much as possible to see hamon. I believe it was a katana at one point in time. Nagasa is 19.5 inches Sori is 5/8 inches Thanks. 1 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted August 26, 2019 Report Posted August 26, 2019 Looks like the classic Nanbokucho sugata. 2 Quote
Logan09 Posted August 26, 2019 Author Report Posted August 26, 2019 Thank you John! Was not expecting it to be Nanbokucho. Quote
Ray Singer Posted August 26, 2019 Report Posted August 26, 2019 I would second John's vote. My feeling is as well is that this may be Nambokucho. Looks like a promising sword. Hope it gets into the hands of a licensed togishi / shinsa for evaluation. 2 Quote
Logan09 Posted August 27, 2019 Author Report Posted August 27, 2019 Thank you for the replies. Sadly the other side isn't as nice and has rust pits about 5 inches up from the habaki. Quote
Rivkin Posted August 27, 2019 Report Posted August 27, 2019 Stupid question - did someone cut the hi so much below kissaki in Nambokucho period? Ok, got resolved - no the most common position, but can be encountered. Kirill R. Quote
