Hi new to the forum!

Im looking to purchase a full set of samurai armor. Im ok with it being Edo era when it was peacetime.

What should I look for to make sure its not a reproduction?

I am based in the UK London, do you know any good dealers?

We have a good number of UK armour experts on the forum. Pretty sure you will receive amply private and/or public recommendations.

For the beginning:

“Jones & Jones Oriental Art”, UK based dealers. Dave Thatcher and Robert Soanes, UK based restorers. Ian Bottomley, the contact person in the UK (amongst a few others), when it comes to Japanese armor.....I’m sure that I forgot somebody on the island, sry!

please note  no disrespect to all other Japanese armour experts and dealers in the Uk  , I only commented on the one I knew in the Uk that was currently restoring and selling  Japanese armour  etc.

Udenudon ,

Whilst I do not buy and sell armours commercially, I am always willing to offer comments, except on price - which must always be a private matter between the buyer and seller.
