Christophe Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 I found this tsuba in a free market. I bought it because it's the first time I see a scolopendre as pattern. At first I thought it was a casting copy. But looking closer, especially the finesse of the waves, I begin to doubt. What do you think ? All information is welcome. Thank you in advance. TETSUGENDO Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 Looks like you did well at the free/flea market Christophe. Looks real to me, nice Centipede. -S- Quote
Christophe Posted August 13, 2019 Author Report Posted August 13, 2019 Thanks Size : 8.4 x 7.8 cm, a bit higher than the average katana tsuba. Feel happy it's a real one. Christophe Quote
Surfson Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 I agree, looks hand made, not cast. And quite nice too. Once the centipede was gold, it appears. Quote
Steves87 Posted August 13, 2019 Report Posted August 13, 2019 Interesting Tsuba! It seems there are dot inlays in the waves? Quote
Christophe Posted August 13, 2019 Author Report Posted August 13, 2019 Yes, small gold dot inlays in the waves, some are missing. C. Quote
