Wushu lineage with a Musashino Watermark Help?

Hello,

 

I am a novice and there is a tsuba advertised as coming from the Wushu lineage with a Musashino Watermark. Could anyone assist what this means?  Wushu seems to be a style of Chinese martial arts and Musashino I guess signifies an area of Tokyo?

This does not make sense to be honest. Musashi is the old name for the Kanto area (Namely Tokyo and Saitama). Musashino is the area of Tokyo where I live not famed for tsuba production.

Could it be Bushu 武州? Bushu basically means Musashi.

Also, tsuba can't have watermarks (as far as I understand what a watermark is)

That is a Musashino grass theme. Pampas grass and bell crickets. A popular Akasaka motif well documented in the Sasano silver book Not sure about the school. Is there a Bushu school?

 

To me it looks suspect. Possibly nisemono (fake) and not antique. The workmanship looks wrong.

Appears to be a "lost in translation" issue I often come across when being approached via "I already ran it through Google translate".

 

 

Confirming Henry, it is a Bushū (武州) School tsuba with an openwork design (sukashi, 透かし) of the Musashino (武蔵野) motif.

I have seen a bunch of these on yahoo.jp among others for a while, i thought they are fake.
