brillone Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Im wondering if anyone here has delt with zen-gallery as a seller? does he sell real swords? Im wondering becasue he has a no return policy on the sword im interested in and that makes me suspicous. http://myworld.ebay.ca/zen-gallery/ Quote
pcfarrar Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Most Japanese sellers on ebay dont have return policies. If a customer sends a sword back then it has to go through customs and registration etc so is a lot of hassle for them. The wakizashi looks a little tired and the boshi isn't very clear on the photos. The koshirae is quite reasonable, and is worth a good chunk of the asking price alone. I do like the mother of pearl inlayed tsuka. Quote
brillone Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 Ok thank you for your input. I do think the wakizashi is in pretty good condition at least if i compare it to what i have been offerd at the same price. But i still dont like ebay, and i would be really happy to hear if anyone have done some business with him. Quote
drbvac Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 I purchased a yari in mounts from Zen gallery and it was just as advertised and arrived quickly. No problem - that said they all can be off at times so dont expect a real hidden treasure. At least they describe the pieces accurately. Quote
huntershooter Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 I've purchased fuchigashira and tsuba from Zen Gallery. No problems whatsoever. Quote
brillone Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 OK thanks for the info, now i just have to decide if i will buy it. Quote
Jacques Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Hi, Keep your money in your wallet, this blade is greatly tired with a very big flaw in the kissaki. Take time to save more money and buy a decent Japanese sword and not a piece of metal. Quote
pcfarrar Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 I agree with Jacques, best to avoid a tired blade like that. Ebay is full of fairly decent inexpensive waks at the moment. Something like this is worth watching: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220269986943 Quote
brillone Posted August 19, 2008 Author Report Posted August 19, 2008 Thanks for the tips, i will continue my search. Quote
