Iwamoto Konkan Fuchikashira?

I just bought this fuchikashira signed "Iwamoto Konkan/' and wonder what are your thoughts. I do not have my hopes up that this is his actual work, but I would be nice to hear opinions of more knowledgeable members.

It's a very attractive set, in a New Year motif but, unfortunately, IMO it is not the work of Konkwon.  It is lacking that easy flow of hand and unbroken rhythm that is the hall mark of artists of his level, there are too many small stumbles and awkward moments here.  Don't misunderstand, this is a nicely made thing, just not a masterwork.   As from your introductory statement, I don't think you had unrealistic expectations, and I don't believe you paid a kings ransom.   Enjoy it, although not the original, it's a nice example of the Iwamoto school style.

There was an extensive two part article in the NBTHK journal from July and August 1999 with many examples. The top of the "iwa" character on yours doesn't look right and the short horizontal stroke in moto is wrong. high probability of gimei, but a nice fuchi/kashira just the same.

Thank yoy for your input. I bought It because It looked good. I did not even know the signature. 

 

But quality of fuchi made me think that It just migh be a real deal:) 

 

I will post some better pictures after I have It cleaned.
