Hi,

I have purchased this kozuka with a Kashima dori design. Can someone help me in translating the first kanji? I think second one is "Yoshi".

Thank you for your help.

Bruno

Has me stumped. I thought it might be 寿 (壽), but it seems to be kusa-kanmuri (grass radical) so that rules out 寿.

Nice-looking item, though.

Bruno,

Unusual that this crew is stumped!   At any rate, this is a very fine looking piece, nice katakiribori, shibuichi with shakudo and suaka inlay and gilding.  Looks like the work of a good maker.
