Nickupero Posted June 1, 2019 Author Report Posted June 1, 2019 Hi Luc, no sadly my Katchu library and reference material is very slim compared to my Nihonto resources. I do however have "helmets of the Saotome school" Quote
uwe Posted June 1, 2019 Report Posted June 1, 2019 Have my problems with the “mune” character! We need a mei for comparison... Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 2, 2019 Report Posted June 2, 2019 It seems to be a combination of Sada 定 and 宗 Mune, but breaking the rules for both. Quote
Luc T Posted June 2, 2019 Report Posted June 2, 2019 Ichiguchi have a Sada hachi too. But no recorded Sadanaga. the kabuto is very likely an myochin Ichiguchi. If it is Munenaga, it is allmost a confirmation. Quote
Nickupero Posted June 20, 2019 Author Report Posted June 20, 2019 Had a Japanese sword friend who's normally very good at reading kanji confirm he thought the Mei read "Munenaga Saku". Thank guys for all your effort on this one, so a Myochin Ichiguchi signed Munenaga Saku. Question is Uwe, when was Munenaga active? Quote
Luc T Posted June 20, 2019 Report Posted June 20, 2019 I think you have to date this one at the end of the 18th century Nick. But there is very little known about him. Quote
