Vermithrax16 Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 I am sure most members have seen this one, but it's worth posting just so folks are sure to see it. I can't even imagine how long it would take to do nanako this fine, days, weeks, longer? https://yuhindo.com/yoshioka-inabanosuke-tsuba/ 1 Quote
ChrisW Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 That is stupefyingly impressive. I can't imagine the steadiness of the hand that did that. Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 I have a papered Mino-Goto tsuba that looks positively dowdy next to this one! 1 Quote
Gakusee Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 Like all of Darcy's fittings, this is also outstanding. Quote
Brian Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 That is some of the best nanako I have ever seen. Wow. Quote
IanB Posted May 21, 2019 Report Posted May 21, 2019 Absolutely fabulous. When I was at the Royal Armouries Museum I borrowed a daisho pair of tsuba for an exhibition and the nanako was so fine the surface looked like black velvet - I just could not see the hemispheres at all without a lens. The infinite patience, as well as striking every blow with the same force, defies belief. Ian Bottomley. 3 Quote
