ortos Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Hello! Since I found little information on copper tsuba, I am confused. Please express your opinion on this tsuba. This is a modern souvenir products or still has historical originality. It can be seen that someone rudely rolled the tsuba under the blade by means of a rough copper insert. The size of a tsuba is 50 mm. on 61 mm, thickness 2 mm., tsuba copper. Thank. Sincerely. Quote
RobertM Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 I would say an Edo period functional tsuba thats been modified to fit a slimmer blade. Not much else to say really other than it's not modern. 2 Quote
ROKUJURO Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 Alex, are you sure about the dimensions? The TSUBA looks a bit bigger than you describe. Otherwise, I second Robert's assumption. 1 Quote
ortos Posted January 31, 2019 Author Report Posted January 31, 2019 RobertM Thanks for the answer. Jean, The dimensions are accurate, just photographed so with little distortion. Thank you for your attention. Regards to you. Quote
Brian Posted January 31, 2019 Report Posted January 31, 2019 If it really is 5cm x 6cm, then it is probably for a boy's sword or a miniature display. 1 Quote
